- Moderators’ names now appear in gold to avoid confusion (if one of us asks you for proof, then that most likely means your scores are at risk of being deleted)
- Added a link to the development blog on the nav bar on the main site
- We’re increasing the player ranking list’s size to include the top 1,000 people, and we’re gonna see how that goes
- Going to add more filters/features to the ranking page hopefully tomorrow
- Got a new suggestion a few minutes ago, we’re going to add a “new messages/challenges feature” tomorrow
Also, Ayron and I are going to get to meet up tomorrow in person for the first time since we started, so we should be able to get a lot of stuff done
Don’t forget to e-mail us with any problems, comments, or suggestions. I’m very pleased with all the e-mails we have been receiving, but I’d like even more!
Update by Ayron: A few things I’d like to say, quickly:
- The size increase to 1,000 people is working out fine; it looks like it’s here to stay!
- If you have any suggestions for filters to add, please please please let us know. We’re going to be revamping the filter system today and possibly tomorrow, so if you want to see a new filter, now would be a great time!
- When e-mailing us, please e-mail both of us (as one of us might be busy at the time, and we both are working on different things, so sending to both of us will make sure the right person gets it), and please use dririan@groovestats.com for me (Ayron), and rawinput@groovestats.com for Mike. But unless you already know which one of us to e-mail, please make sure to send the e-mail to both of us. Thank you!

Late last night (at an unknown time) the MySQL server we use to host the databases randomly decided to die out, and refuse all attempts we made to access it, oddly except from the site’s control panel. DreamHost told us that the issue has been fully resolved, and it seems to be. However, we lost some of the data from yesterday (we previously thought that the damage was contained to the forum; but the machine locations that were added yesterday were also gone), so some of your scores may be gone. We deeply apologize for the possible loss, although we were glad that we do indeed keep backups, although the server picked a bad time to die out, as it died quite a good bit of time after the backup was created. I’m working on a backup system that should (hopefully) keep the backups only an hour or two behind, just in case this happens again. I’m also working to set up an offsite replicated MySQL server, with extra redundancy for the lulz. Please e-mail one of us at dririan@groovestats.com or rawinput@groovestats.com, or send us a message on the forum.
PS: I did restore all the changes to regions and machine locations that were lost, so no worries about that; it’s all good. But please do thank poor Tiza, for adding all those machines then having them just vanish from our database.

Here’s what’s been going on behind the scenes recently, since the ownership transfer:
- Removed “Recent Scores” because it was buggy, will work on fixing it
- Reordered information displayed for a custom song (upon request)
- Put in the birthday thing (by the way, start putting your birthdays in! Last time I checked not very many people did besides Ayron and I!)
